The final stages of accessibility improvement works at Isleworth Station

On 7 December 2023 the Isleworth Station team achieved the critical National Milestone for substantial completion and welcomed Adam Burrows, Network Rail Senior Project Manager and the Network Rail senior sponsor for a site walkout , who praised the team for achieving high standards across the project.

The team are continuing to complete final elements of the project including mechanical and engineering works, installing station signage and completing the final elements of lift works ahead of entry into service early 2024.

The project is part of the Access for All (AFA) programme which is a Government initiative to improve accessibility in and around stations. The primary aim is to provide passengers with step free access at each location, providing particular benefit to people with reduced mobility or those with young children in prams or encumbered with luggage.

The team began the works in April this year and have installed two large lifts either side of the raised platforms, making use of the existing subway. New lighting and cameras have also been installed in and around the lifts.

A huge well done to the team and supply chain for overcoming many challenges and working around the clock to deliver works safely to ensure this milestone is achieved.

Thanks to all the Octavius site team. I was really impressed with what we saw during our walkout and the site is clearly very well run.
